چکیده
A simple and explicit method is given for approximating the unit ball of `p by polytopes. The method leads to a natural generalization of `p-spaces with good duality and interpolation properties.

Solving multiobjective linear programming problems using ball center of polytopes
Here, we aim to develop a new algorithm for solving a multiobjective linear programming problem. The algorithm is to obtain a solution which approximately meets the decision maker's preferences. It is proved that the proposed algorithm always converges to a weak efficient solution and at times converges to an efficient solution. Numerical examples and a simulation study are used to illu...
متن کاملParabolic starlike mappings of the unit ball $B^n$
Let $f$ be a locally univalent function on the unit disk $U$. We consider the normalized extensions of $f$ to the Euclidean unit ball $B^nsubseteqmathbb{C}^n$ given by $$Phi_{n,gamma}(f)(z)=left(f(z_1),(f'(z_1))^gammahat{z}right),$$ where $gammain[0,1/2]$, $z=(z_1,hat{z})in B^n$ and $$Psi_{n,beta}(f)(z)=left(f(z_1),(frac{f(z_1)}{z_1})^betahat{z}right),$$ in which $betain[0,1]$, $f(z_1)neq 0$ a...
متن کاملOn Reduced Bodies, Regularity of Norms, and Related Antipodality Properties
The thickness (or minimum width) of a convex body K in Euclidean space E, d ≥ 2, is the minimal distance between two distinct parallel supporting hyperplanes of K. The body K is said to be reduced if no proper convex subset of K has the same thickness. It is natural to study the notions of thickness and reduced body also in Minkowski spaces (that is, in real normed linear spaces of finite dimen...
متن کاملAN EXTREMUM PROPERTY CHARACTERIZING THE n-DIMENSIONAL REGULAR CROSS-POLYTOPE
In the spirit of the Genetics of the Regular Figures, by L. Fejes Tóth [FT, Part 2], we prove the following theorem: If 2n points are selected in the n-dimensional Euclidean ball Bn so that the smallest distance between any two of them is as large as possible, then the points are the vertices of an inscribed regular cross-polytope. This generalizes a result of R.A. Rankin [R] for 2n points on t...
متن کاملConvex Geometry of Orbits
We study metric properties of convex bodies B and their polars B, where B is the convex hull of an orbit under the action of a compact group G. Examples include the Traveling Salesman Polytope in polyhedral combinatorics (G = Sn, the symmetric group), the set of nonnegative polynomials in real algebraic geometry (G = SO(n), the special orthogonal group), and the convex hull of the Grassmannian ...
